Who's Who at the MTC

2008 Pros

   Jonathan Adamson - Head Pro

Jonathan has been involved in the MTC for almost fifteen years.  Having served the Club in a variety of capacities, Jonathan is currently the club's General Manager.  He also plans the tennis programs for our summer and winter operations and serves on the club's Board of Directors as President.

Jonathan attended Radford Univeristy and Virginia Commonwealth University in the United States on scholarship, playing NCAA Division 1 tennis at both schools.  He also attended the University of Victoria where he was a player/coach on their top-ranked tennis team.

Jonathan is a past winner of the Ottawa NCTA City Championships in both the singles and doubles, has competed internationally and has represented March in many area tournaments over the years.  He is a former Kanata Klassic men's singles champion.

Jonathan initiated many of the youth oriented programs at the MTC, including the popular Breakfast Club program.  Through a unique teaching style that he and the tennis staff bring to all of March's instructional programs, partricipants learn the game of tennis in a relaxed, supportive environment.  By focusing on each individual's preferred learning style, and adapting their teaching style appropriately, members of all ages are able to progress quickly.

Jonathan is an Ottawa native, currently residing in Kanata.

    Sean Arora - Pro

Sean has also been involved in the activities of the MTC for many years.  Having served as the Head Pro and on the Board of Directors, Sean "grew up" at the club, learning to excel at the game of tennis through the club's instructional programs.

As one of the original participants in the club's premier Breakfast Club junior elites program, Sean has successfully competed in many city, provincial tournaments, as well as in the United States.  During Sean's long tenure as a participant in the Breakfast Club, he was continually looked upon by the coaching staff as the program's team leader. His dedication and committment to the program remains unmatched, even to this day.

Sean's responsibilities at the club include the Summer Camps, junior development programs and private/group lessons.  He has been involved in the youth instructional programs at the club for more than seven years, working to help our kids advance their game.  While keeping that important element of fun in all his programs, Sean has earned trust and respect from the parents involved.  As a result, most of the kids in our camps come back - week-after-week, year-after-year. Sean's previous committment and dedication growing up at the club has enabled him to become the ideal role model for today's children at the club.

Sean graduated from the University of Western Ontario, where he competed on the tennis team while completing his undergraduate degree.

    Neil Arora - Pro

Another member of our Pro staff who has "grown up" at  the club, Neil has first hand knowledge of the Junior Programs.

He began participating in the Summer Camp program at the MTC when he was eight years old and quickly became the youngest member of the upstart Breakfast Club upon turning the age of ten.  He became a cornerstone of the BC program for the next ten years, and was continually singled out by the coaches as one of the program's "hardest and most dedicated" students.  While a member of the Breakfast Club, Neil gained valuable experience as a player by travelling and competing in many tournaments locally, as well as across Ontario and the US.

Neil's dedication to the game of tennis has not only helped him develop into a formidable tennis player, but has also allowed him the opportunity to experience teaching at a very early age. His maturity landed him an instructor's position with the Summer Camp program by the age of sixteen and has watched him take on more and more responsibility in all MTC programs since. His knowlege of the MTC teaching methodology have enabled him to become a valuable contributor on the MTC staff.

Neil has also been an MTC Court Captain for many years, and last year took on the added responsibility of being our TUCK SHOP manager.
